Obviously the regular sized sim would not fit and I needed to cut it down to a nano sim. I've never done this before and it was very frustrating.

Anyway, as I was trying to fit the nano sim into the sim tray, the sim card fell into the phone WITHOUT being secured in the sim tray and now the sim card is lodged firmly inside the iPhone. I tried to pull it back out but unfortuntely all I seem to have done is push it further in. No idea what to do now. This is why re recomend getting a new correct sized sim from o2 for free.

Are you near an apple store? Follow adamtemp64 's advice Worked for me once Nearest Apple store would be three hours on the train unfortunately. Then their earliest available appointment is 20th November Edinburgh.

Well, the sim card O2 sent was indeed a push out, but only from regular-sized to micro-sized sims and not nano sims, if that makes sense. So I had to manually modify the sim card to make it even smaller.

I wasn't aware O2 would provide a free nano sim on request. I hate to sound sour and it's not my intention, but I thought they'd have sent the compatible sim size out with the phone the first time around anyway.

Hesistant to mess around inside the phone incase I damage something else. I think tweezers are a bit too big to fit. If I do manage to pry the sim card out, how would I go about getting a nano sim from O2 that'll just fit without any modification? Also, really hoping my current phone will continue to work fine in the meantime, eg. You would have been sent a sim that has all three sizes.

I am not afraid to open the phone. Junior Member. Thanks Meter : 1. Join Date: Joined: May SIM tray removal. I did the same thing when the SIM slipped while putting it in. The only way I was able to get it out was to get a push-pin with a diameter slightly bigger than the SIM tray hole, put it in about.

This resulted in bending the SIM tray tab the end that sticks out with the hole in it but the tray came out and went back in just fine. I would like to get a new SIM tray now though because mine looks obviously buggered up. Subscribe to Thread. Posting Quick Reply - Please Wait. Android Apps and Games. On return, after I removed the temporary sim, I was tired and I absentmindely put the US sim back in the iPad without putting it in the sim tray first.

So now I have a sim card stuck in the iPad with no tray. I tried to get it out myself, even buying micro tweezers, to no avail. It is a VERY tight space. I took it to the Apple Store, and was told that they could not get it out. They suggested going to a third party repair shop interesting. I am at my wits end. I really do not feel like spending several hundred dollars on a 10 day old iPad to get a stuck sim card out, but it seems like the only other way is to take the thing apart which would be both tricky and void the warranty.

Posted on Apr 1, PM. They made me an appointment for tomorrow. Page content loaded. Apr 1, PM in response to jrmpco In response to jrmpco. The micro-SIM card slot with the iPad is the same as the micro-SIM card slot with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, so this suggested repair place that only messes with iPhones shouldn't make any difference in this regard unless there is no other option besides taking the iPad apart.

The same has probably happened with an iPhone 4 or 4S and maybe this repair place has some experience with this without having to take the device apart. Having the AppleCare extended warranty makes no difference in this regard. This is accidental, not a manufacturing defect which isn't covered under the standard or extended warranty. I don't believe iPads are taken apart in an Apple store regardless.

If there is a problem that is covered under the warranty, the iPad will be exchanged under warranty right then and there, not sent off for repair.

Sim card stuck in iPhone 6 (without tray)

The new AppleCare extended warranty incudes 2 claims for any accidental damage. Not just for broken glass. Apr 1, PM. The thing is, the nature of your problem doesn't qualify to get service under the terms of AppleCare or even the limited warranty apple extends, so they probably told you to go to a third party to save money because they are under no obligation to service your iPad.

IF the iPad still works otherwise than with the 3G, you could try to sell it on eBay but of course you'd have to knock down the price. I therefore decided that it was a bad idea to buy the AppleCare since the cost of repair seemed reasonable enough.

Aoc monitor repair

Anyway, the problem is that the cell phone folks take the phone apart to get to the Sim card if it is stuck, but apparently it is MUCH more complicated to take an iPad apart. I may have to bite the bullet, but that is where I am. Would this not count? I know that they do not have to do that -- but I may go back and ask to see. Yes it does, but there would not be any repair.Jammed sim tray Aug 10, Eclair Aug 10, Any idea how to take it out?
